Someday the church will recognize these spiritual giants.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949653926664225332.post-56731041067701198882011-02-11T16:44:21.953-05:002011-02-11T16:44:21.953-05:00See these Christians, how they scold one another.

It contains the jaded ramblings of a bitter old man who has a knack for sowing seeds of discord and hate. His narcissistic posts offer nothing constructive. Judgmentalism, dissent, and negativity are his forte as is well evidenced by the hateful comments his posts draw forth from his commentators. It's sad to say, but the spirit of Christ is entirely absent from this blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949653926664225332.post-26735792478501406262011-02-09T16:23:55.541-05:002011-02-09T16:23:55.541-05:00We seem to have a church from below who valiently ...We seem to have a church from below who valiently continue the vision of Vatican II. Lay people, women and men religious and some heroic diocesan priests who follow Jesus; and then there are the "hierarchy' whose hearts are set on fire by careerism and clericalism. I wonder if someday Wojtylism will be recognized as a heresy?

OhhAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949653926664225332.post-67081263720501586072011-02-09T11:56:23.567-05:002011-02-09T11:56:23.567-05:00Yes, JP II was brilliant and prayerful. "Religion is a means to an end. When it becomes an end in itself it is idolatry."

I am a cradle Catholic who treasures much in the Catholic tradition. but I think that the Church's governance has become demonic. An infallible monarchy is a dysfunctional model for a Christian community.

You make a good case against beatifying JP II. But you didn't mention his campaign to canonize Pius IX--the unsaintly pope who strong-armed the definition of papal infallibility.Mary Louise Birminghamhttp://williambirmingham@rcn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949653926664225332.post-83734695860629500672011-02-05T20:39:03.944-05:002011-02-05T20:39:03.944-05:00This is a sad, but true, story: the loss (we hope ...This is a sad, but true, story: the loss (we hope only temporary) of some of the fresh air flowing into the stale, dark corners of our Church which Pope John XXIII introduced about by his policy of aggiornamento. The question now is: What can we, as informed and "liberated" Catholics, do about it?Tony Podleckinoreply@blogger.com
